September 2024 Insight Event

At our Insight Event on 18 March 2024, Members had the opportunity to meet with Cristina Nicolotti Squires (Group Director for Broadcasting & Media, Ofcom) to discuss Ofcom’s work to ensure that we have media that is trusted and valued; and to hear from Tome Levi (Injury Prevention Consultant), who presented research and findings from work that seeks to reduce cost risk and boost cast health in screen and stage productions.

Following this portion of the Insight Event, Members were joined by invited guests, press, and policymakers for a special session to mark the publication of a new British Screen Forum report on UK Film Finance Trends, Show Me the Money!, which has been produced by Ben Keen (Consultant, British Screen Forum). After an introductory presentation from Ben on the report’s key findings, there was an industry panel discussion of initial reactions to the report chaired by Matt Mueller (Editor, Screen Daily), and featuring Anwen Griffiths (Head of Legal & Business Affairs, BBC Film), John Glencross (CEO, Calculus Capital), Dimitra Tsingou (Founder, House of Zinc), and Dave Bishop (CEO, Protagonist Pictures) discussing initial reactions to the report.
