Insight Event March 2021

At our Insight Event on 10 March 2021, Members had the opportunity to hear presentations from Dr Jo Twist (CEO, Ukie) on the current state of the games industry and marketplace, and from James Butcher (Director UK & Ireland, Xbox) and Hayley Uyrus (Director of Brand Communications, Tonic Games Group) on changing business models in games; Lyndsay Duthie (CEO, PGGB) on the Production Guild of Great Britain’s Diversity and Inclusion Action Group; Rishi Kapoor (Founder and CEO, Paus TV) on Paus TV, a new video streaming platform dedicated to independent films and supporting talented creators, powered by tips; and The Honourable Steven Guilbeault PC MP (Minister of Canadian Heritage) on the Modernization of the Canadian Broadcasting Act, a bill that seeks to guarantee that internet giants and online broadcasters contribute their fair share, to ensure that all content providers contribute to the creation of Canadian content in both Official Languages, and to promote this content on their platforms.
