Exclusive Access Policy Roundtable on the Online Safety Bill, with Damian Collins MP (Chair, Joint Select Committee)

As Members will be aware, a Joint Committee on the Draft Online Safety Bill was established on 22 July by the House of Lords and the House of Commons, and Damian Collins MP was elected its Chair on 27 July. The Joint Committee has been appointed to consider the Government’s draft Bill to establish a new regulatory framework to tackle harmful content online. We know this issue is of great importance to many British Screen Forum Members and this roundtable is the latest in a series on the topic which have included sessions with Ministers, Shadow Ministers and senior civil servants.

The Committee is required to report by 10 December 2021 and so this is an early opportunity for Members to share views with its Chair.

Please note: this event is currently scheduled to take place in person in a central London location, but we hope to be able to facilitate Zoom access for those who cannot be in the room.
