We are extremely excited to be able to welcome you back to our annual showpiece event, the British Screen Forum Conference 2024. This year’s event will be held on Wednesday 20 November 2024 from 9.00am – 5.00pm at a Central London location.
Confirmed speakers at this year’s event include:
- Kathleen Kennedy (President, Lucasfilm), one of the global film industry’s leading figures, will deliver the inaugural Lord Richard Attenborough Memorial Address, moderated by Lord (David) Puttnam.
- Dame Melanie Dawes (Chief Executive, Ofcom) will take part in a session called ‘Ofcom at 21’ which will explore the challenges facing the regulator now and a look back at how the regulatory landscape has changed since it was formed in 2003. This session will be moderated by former Ofcom CEO Ed Richards (Co-Founder and Managing Partner, Flint Global).
- Jane Featherstone (Co-Founder & Chief Creative Officer, SISTER), who has overseen the production of some of the UK’s most groundbreaking and best loved dramas including Broadchurch and Spooks. Since founding SISTER in 2015 her credits have included Giri/Haji and Chernobyl.
- Wendy Smith (COO, Absurd Ventures) will talk about how Absurd, a new company founded by the creative mind behind Rockstar Games, are taking an IP first, format ambivalent approach to content and will produce podcasts, television series, films and AAA games titles. Wendy will be interviewed by The Guardian games reporter Keith Stuart.
- Dr Stacy Smith (Founder, USC Annenberg Inclusion Initiative) will present on her groundbreaking research examines inclusion across film, TV, and digital platforms, the music business, moderated by Jane Millichip (Chief Executive Officer, BAFTA).
- Rosie Alison (Producer, Heyday Films) & Dougal Wilson (Director) will be talking about the upcoming Paddington in Peru with Alysia Judge (Filmmaker & Journalist).
- Former British Screen Forum Future Leaders Helen Simmons (Producer, Erebus Pictures) and Loran Dunn (Producer, Delaval Films) will be joined by Luna Carmoon (Director) to discuss their recent feature Hoard with Wendy Ide (Chief Film Critic, The Observer).
- Richard Broughton (Co-Founder, Ampere Analysis) will lead a discussion on what is next for VOD with a panel comprised of Ewan Douglas (Head of Sales & Business Development, Channel 4), Eleanor Marshall (Global Head of Data & Measurement, GroupM) & David Salmon (EVP & Managing Director International, Tubi).
- Ben Keen (Consultant, British Screen Forum) will also return to deliver his hotly anticipated annual market overview.
