On Wednesday 20 November 2024, British Screen Forum Members and industry stakeholders were welcomed to the British Screen Forum Conference 2024. The theme at this year’s Conference was “Paradigm Shift?”
This year’s Conference featured the inaugural Lord Richard Attenborough Memorial Address, which was delivered by Kathleen Kennedy (President, Lucasfilm) and was moderated by Lord (David) Puttnam CBE, and a political keynote delivered by Dame Caroline Dinenage DBE MP (Chair, Culture, Media and Sport Committee).
Further speakers at this year’s Conference also included Dame Melanie Dawes DCB (Chief Executive, Ofcom); Wendy Smith (COO, Absurd Ventures); Jane Featherstone (Co-Founder & Chief Creative Officer, SISTER); and Dr Stacy Smith (Founder, USC Annenberg Inclusion Initiative). Panel sessions included Rosie Alison (Producer, Heyday Films) & Dougal Wilson (Director) discussing their new film Paddington in Peru; former British Screen Forum Future Leaders Helen Simmons (Producer, Erebus Pictures) and Loran Dunn (Producer, Delaval Films) were joined by Luna Carmoon (Director) to discuss their recent feature Hoard; and Richard Broughton (Co-Founder, Ampere Analysis) lead a discussion on what is next for VOD with a panel comprised of Ewan Douglas (Head of Sales & Business Development, Channel 4), Eleanor Marshall (Global Head of Data & Measurement, GroupM) & David Salmon (EVP & Managing Director International, Tubi)
