June 2012 Council Meeting

27 June 2012.

BSAC held a Council Meeting on Wednesday, 27 June 2012, which was open to the BSAC Membership and invited guests.

Items on the agenda included:

– Kate McGavin and Holly Creek, DCMS, who were introducing and outlining the process of consultation that would be used to inform the draft of the Communications Bill

– John McVay, CEO, PACT, speaking about the challenges faced by the PACT as part of a regular item enabling Members to provide a personal view of issues of importance

– Jane Wright, Independent Executive Producer, outlining the BSAC Response to the BFI’s Future Plan. Additional perspectives were provided by Stephen Garrett, Chairman, Shine Pictures; Ben Gibson, Director, London Film School; and Marc Samuelson, Producer, Samuelson Productions. The BSAC Response was submitted to the BFI on 12 June 2012, and a copy of this can be downloaded here.
