January 2024 Insight Event

At our Insight Event on 30 January 2024, Members had the opportunity to hear presentations from Marcus Ryder MBE (Chief Executive Officer, Film + TV Charity) on new research from the Film + TV Charity’s recent industry survey on financial resilience; Dr Alice Enders (Director of Research, Enders Analysis) on the Media Bill and its sector implications; and Paul Oldfield (Controller, Policy, BBC) on the recently published Mid-Term Review and its  recommendations for major reforms “to help boost audience confidence in the BBC’s  impartiality and complaints system.” Rt Hon Sir John Whittingdale OBE MP also shared his views with Members on public policy issues such as AI & Copyright, Digital Infrastructure and the Future of the BBC, having recently concluded another term as Minister of State at DCMS.
