Report Launch: Make Freelancing Pay

This is a launch event for the research report “Make Freelancing Pay – Can we use taxes & benefits to boost competitiveness, and improve workforce diversity and retention in the UK screen sector?” which considers whether the UK government could use the taxes & benefit system to help retain vital skills and talent, and shore up the screen sector’s creative and economic competitiveness The report was co-funded by a consortium led by British Screen Forum and the Film + TV Charity, and comprising BECTU, BFI, Creative Industries Policy and Evidence Centre, Directors UK,  Equity and Production Guild of Great Britain. At the event, the report’s authors, Prof Doris Ruth Eikhof (University of Glasgow) and Dr Hannah Randolph (Fraser of Allander Institute, University of Strathclyde) will present on its main findings and participate in discussion and Q&A with attendees.

Please note: A limited number of in person spaces have been reserved for British Screen Forum Members at this launch event and will be allocated on a first-come-first-served basis. In addition, all British Screen Forum Members will receive a digital copy of the report on publication and will also have a chance to hear from Prof Eikhof when she presents the report at the British Screen Forum Insight Event being held on 19 March.
